Life is Like a Box of Wine... More-so than a Box of Chocolates....

I think, boy do I think. Today I'm thinking that Forrest Gump's mother was only partially right when she told Forrest that life was like a box of chocolates. Life is like a box alright. It has been my experience however, that life is a bit more like a box of wine. Boxed wine is often snubbed and thought of as the ramen noodle of wines.  The reality of it is, boxed wine can be delicious. Some people just can't get over the packaging. They are quick with the nose shrugs and assumptions that it is inferior. Meanwhile, inside that box of wine is a satisfying, full bodied, rich, quality spirit. The box itself acts as a protective shield for the wine. Should the boxed wine fall off of a table, it is likely to survive. You will initially panic as it falls, but luckily the box will only dent. The wine survives and can still be enjoyed.  When a glass bottle of wine falls of a table you will end up with shattered glass, wine splashed about and your money wasted. The Pointless Protection Theory

Self protection, where did we learn it? As children we were fearless. I mean some of us ate bugs, rocks and a few of you ate boogers, fearless right? Did you ever steal a piece of gum from your mother's purse? How about a dollar? That took big ones! Fearless. I have grown accustomed to keeping people at bay. They might have made it into my safety zone, but they weren't allowed to stay long. This is because I hav...

Tech NO!

It's 2018 and wow, everything is "smart." Smart phone, smart TV, smart watch, smart house, yeah, everything. Technology is great and benefits us in so many ways. But, can you have too much technology? Can you get through a dinner without checking your smart phone? Are you one of the millions of people using voice assistant devices? I recently watched a presentation for one of these home voice assistant devices and they do have some practical uses. I did begin to wonder though, could they become too invasive? One device allowed you to call or "drop in" on family or friends with similar devices in their homes, So basically the feature acted as a video phone you activate with a voice command and then you can see and hear the other person, So if I was following the presentation correctly, once you accept the initial "drop in" they can drop in whenever they want to. When,Ev.Er. I don't know if I want people video dropping in on me like that. What if you...
